SafeRide to Manage Sunflower Members' Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Beginning Nov. 1

Sunflower Transitions to SafeRide for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation Services

Effective November 1, 2024, Sunflower is partnering with SafeRide to provide members with non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) services to provide curb-to-curb transportation. SafeRide also will manage gas reimbursement for Sunflower Medicaid members.

  • Sunflower Medicaid members can receive $0.60 per mile (beginning Nov. 1) to get to and from their healthcare appointments.
  • Members' friends, relatives or neighbors may also be reimbursed for driving our members.
  • Drivers must register to become an approved gas-mileage reimbursement driver through SafeRide.

These trips do not include ambulance trips.

Members can arrange gas reimbursement or NEMT in two ways:

Information Needed to Schedule Services

Members should have the following information ready when they call to make a reservation:

  • Member ID number
  • Member date of birth
  • Telephone number
  • Doctor’s name
  • Date and time of appointment
  • Pick-up address
  • Drop-off address
