Updated HEDIS® resources for measure year 2024 are now available!
Measure Year (MY) 2024 HEDIS® guides and resources are now available on the Sunflower Health Plan Provider Website. HEDIS® (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) is a set of standardized performance measures developed by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) to objectively measure, report, and compare quality across health plans.
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) requires NCQA accreditation for its three KanCare managed care organizations (MCOs). The NCQA accreditation process requires collection of HEDIS® annually, as does the KanCare contract with the MCOs. The HEDIS® season begins early in the calendar year and all collections are submitted to the national HEDIS® organization in May.
The purpose of these resources is to help your practice increase your HEDIS® rates and address care opportunities for your patients.
Some guides and resources you can find, include:
- HEDIS® MY 2024 Quick Reference Guide – Reference guide for the NCQA HEDIS® MY 2024 technical specifications with a summary of updates from MY 2023, descriptions, and submission guidance.
- Adult HEDIS® Pocket Guide – Frequently used codes and best practices for adult HEDIS® measures.
- Pediatric HEDIS® Pocket Guide – Frequently used codes and best practices for pediatric HEDIS® measures.
- EPSDT/KBH Billing and Coding Tips – Requirements, best practices, and coding tips for KAN Be Healthy Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment (EPSDT/KBH) screenings.
Access these resources in the Quality Improvements section, on the HEDIS page.
